Kris Hannah
Assistant General Chairperson
4 Year Term - A New Direction 08
Kris Hannah has been with United for twenty years, eighteen of those years have been in MSP, and two of the years were in ORD. He has served the membership in MSP as Committee member, Committee Chair, District Lodge 141 Educator and as Trustee for Local Lodge 1833.
Kris’ activism stems from his desire to ensure management was not violating the contract. He added, “The members felt helpless against management and I knew I could stand up to the company and protect the members.”
Kris knows he can make a difference at more than just the MSP station. Kris said, “I believe I am in touch with the members and their needs. I know we can move the IAM in a new direction.” His role as committee chair developed an understanding of what both PCE and the Ramp want and need from our Union.
Kris believe that in everything, the membership comes first. Looking at politics, organizing and representation, the member should always be first. He explained, “You need to recognize the members because they are why we are here. Without them we would not need the stewards, committees, district representatives or Grand Lodge Representatives.” Through education and communication, the members will become more involved in the processes. Whether it is through politics or organizing, we need our members. “We must keep the members informed and ask for their help with any organizing or political drive. There are far too many companies taking advantage of their workers.” Kris, along with the New Direction team, will be there for the membership. |
