Sandy Olmos

Vice President, Hawaii - A New Direction 08

Sandy Olmos has been with United Airlines for almost twenty-five years. She worked in OGG for a year and a half and worked in HNL for the remainder. Sandy has served the membership in Hawaii as Shop Steward and Committeeperson for Customer Service.

Sandy became involved because she witnessed the lack of dignity and respect that was deserved by professionals in the field of customer service. She says, "I am tired of being in the dark about matters that affect our present and our future. It is time we stood up and took the new direction needed for this Union to survive."

Sandy knows that representing, organizing and politics are all important to a Union's success. She feels that representation of the membership should be first and that it is the key to a successful Union. Sandy has great passion for representing the membership. She knows she can make a difference from her years of experience as a representative saying, "I am more determined than ever to become involved at the district level."

Sandy gained the respect of those she represents and is looking forward to representing all of the Hawaiian Islands as VP-Hawaii for A New Direction..
